Settle in. Soften your eyes and forehead muscles. Notice if you’re clenching your jaw. Or tightening your neck. In this moment, forget about your “Holiday To-Do List” of decorations, gift wrap, food prep, party plans and all the other festive accessories that come along with the holiday hustle.

Focus on the Nativity scene. The one in the Bible, that is. We are reminded about the one and only true birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. All the rest are anniversaries. Some anniversaries are more fun than others. Others are barely humanly tolerable.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or getting carried away to a place you don’t want to go, keep it simple. Keep your eyes Above.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder; and His Name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. ~Isaiah 9:6
