When we talk about anti-fragility and resilience, we think about the fight we all fight in this game of life. For this fight, we need some equipment, and we also need to be in tip-top shape. Resilience can be represented as equipment, specifically, a punching bag. It could be punched. It sometimes goes back to form because of its inherent elasticity. But eventually there’s a wearing out and you need to replace the punching bag with a new one.
On the other hand, you can train (as the ultimate boxer of your life) to be anti-fragile. The best way we could demonstrate what it means to possess anti-fragility is when a boxer, the one who’s leading the fight, is more flexible and actually goes with the flow. Maybe she takes a punch. Or she expects the punch and moves to the left, then to the right. But she’s still standing strong. Which skill would you prefer to hone? Being resilient or able to bounce back (or forward!) or being anti-fragile?
Everyone tells a story. A story to oneself and others. Sometimes they’re the same and quite often there are different versions. Are these same old stories serving your life well?
